The rebels weren't known as "Nationalists", but as "Patriots". The term "Nationalist" wasn't used in Spain until the foundation of the Basque Nationalist Party in 1895. |

In any few ocassions they actually turned against their supposed allies and joined the partisans in the middle of a fight! The French were considerably ed off, naturally. |
