Bought a few of the deciduous tress, and I'm looking for a way to take off the "snow". Never mind that they normally shouldn't have snow AND leaves at the same time. Soaking a tree top in water helps, a little. After a couple of hours I was able to take some of the white stuff off with an old toothbrush. Has any one come up with anything else? I many try simple green next. |

Why not just spray paint it dark green? Pretend the snow isn't there. |

I bought some of those today. My plan is to do a quick spray of medium green, and then add some Woodland Scenics foliage. I'm more concerned with how to rebase them… |

I just clip off the larger clumps of white with a scissors and paint any remaining white to match the green. I think the irregularity looks better |

Not really clipable, and the white parts I'm mostly concerned about are in too obvious clumps. |

I used hot water to soak them but I had to basically "massage" the white off. It worked great but some of the green dye leeched into the water as well so you will need to use gloves to avoid your hands being dyed green. Of course, I found out the hard way. |

Not even boiling water, just warm tap water. The white stuff comes off quickly. I used an old toothbrush to help. Now some of the green comes off as well. They end up a blue-green like a blue spruce. Re-painting is always an option. It is rather messy process, an apron is a good idea. |

Like it was said earlier use hot water and wear gloves |

I'm more concerned with how to rebase them… I carefully twisted the large wooden base off of the "trunk" then shaped the bottom of the trunk into a circle which I then hot glued to a large fender washer. Then just paint and flock finishes it off. Jim |

While those trees look nice I would bet you could order the something close top the same off of eBay from one of the Asia sellers for the same or less and save the time to use for another project. |

Hot water seems to do ok, but it does take off a bit of the green flock. At this point, I'm just trying to get rid of the clumps. |
