I finished painting my greek hoplite DBA army this afternoon. 32 figures may not seem a big deal, but this is the first project I have fully finished in probably five years. Pictures, commentary, and blog links will be forthcoming over the weekend (unless I wind up doing something else lol!) |

I hope your Greeks are ok with having their wooos painted. Congrats on a completed project. |

It's a nice feeling when you actually finish a project, congratulations! |

Have a double 'wooo' on me. Well done. Always a nice and extremely rare feeling. |

Pictures – no rest till we have them!!! Of course then to be consistent I should post pics of my Palmyrans, Normans, LIR, Goths, Early Bedouin, and Parthians. All of whom have been brought up to strength or painted from scratch this year. P.S. Congrats on getting a project done. |

DBA is a stepping stone. Greek armies don't count without a few hundred hoplites. |

You will never be finished with any army. I've been painting for almost 50 years now, and everytime I get close to finishing some army, along comes a new release of nifty minis that I really need to buy and paint and use to replace some older ones, add characters to, etc. It's a vicious addiction. I think Dante had a special level reserved for it. |

In our gaming group we have the distinction that an army is "done" when you have enough painted figures that you can do a throw down game with out going oh I do not have "x". Armies are rarely or never "finished" for the stated reason TKindred mentioned. |

Well done on painting those Greeks. Have you focused on a specific army or some more generic hoplites first? A friend an I had a great engagement using Thebans and Athenians last weekend using DBA 3.0. The Thebans massed their hoplites in deep formations against the Athenians to their front. The Athenians focussed their attacks on the somewhat exposed Athenian left. The battle was on a knife edge for some time until the Thebans finally gained the upper hand. Very enjoyable game that highlighted the improvements in DBA 3.0 relating to hoplite warfare. A look forward to seeing photos of your figures. |

I got lazy and took no pictures today. Nor did I prime my Achaemenids. Or clean the kitchen. |

The Athenians attacked themselves? I know the one thing a Greek hated was another Greek, but even so…. My own 10mm Greeks are all Lesbians. I enjoy the disappointed reactions I get from anorak-wearing voyeurs. |

I of course should have written "the Athenians attacked the exposed Theban left…" |

Actually Queen Catherine, that reminds me that I have 44 AB Greeks (and 3 Thracian peltasts) to finish that I started about this time last year… Got them to pretty much done but for the shield devices and was going to have my niece do those – art major with better eyes and painting skills. She got busy and I got sidetracked on other projects. Should add them back into the queue. Plan on using them as Athenians, as I have about 400 points (DBM) of Xyston Thebans primed waiting their turn as well (had been a while since I had painted and wanted to get back into practice with some lower priced figures). |
