Another grav-tank Mr. Treadaway can incorporate into TAS? |

The existing 6mm is nice – this is so much better! |
John Treadaway | 24 Nov 2014 11:14 a.m. PST |
Dave – there are currently two sheets of TAS decals from Ainsty – the 5 series numbers and the 3 series numbers – the former with more of the all white unit decals (the three series has all three colour unit decals). Each has enough numbers for 8 vehicles and enough names for four It certainly looks like the Late period TAS have a heavier tank to replace the older versions! Gosh! John T |

The master is a sitting on my desk right now, staring at me in a "come on, get me in a mould" kind of way. It is indeed a beast. |

Tony, are any more of the 6mm Pac Fed coming to 15mm in 2015? Like the Bennelong, Bilby, Koala, Koala-M, Kakadu, Tanami, or Quoll? Also, will the grav tanks of the Indonesian Republic make their debut in 15mm next year? |

Excellent (he says – Monty Burns style…) So: Slammers Late TAS: Heavy Marines Units Reworked History Page starting here link but with adjusted stuff throughout with added material for a heavier, advanced marine unit including this (soon to be released) Komodo Heavy Tank and Raeside missile vehicles plus Tiger Anti-Air systems, the latter two already released and all, of course, from Brigade:
Play Sheet with costs and so forth here: PDF link Things to note: Marine Colonels are more expensive than they were (revised points costs in Supplement 5) PDF link – same applied to older Marine Sheet which has been revised PDF link Wraith tanks attached to the Marines rather than the TAS Police get an extra Tribarrel so they cost more. Finally, it's much easier to do this stuff quickly when Brigade kindly include a side view of their vehicles as renders! Does that fit the bill, Dave Latz and Mutant Q? Tony Francis | 27 Nov 2014 3:24 a.m. PST |
Blimey John, that was quick – I'll remember the side renders in future. The Komodo finally gives me something to match the Slammers tanks . BTW, have I mis-understood it, or does the Mobile Infantry Tank Destroyer Detachment only have 6 TUs ? Maj Diz Aster – the Indonesians are inked in for sometime in 2015, just not quite sure when. I've done the 3D work but need to find a place in the schedule for them. And yes, we'll see more PacFed/TAS vehicles as well, again details TBD. It's also quite possible that we'll see the new designs scaled back down again into 6mm to replace the existing models. |

Outstanding! Thanks for the info Tony. New Guinea war in 15mm looming on the horizon for 2015 |
Dave L | 27 Nov 2014 7:40 a.m. PST |
John and Tony, you guys are the best! I sit here with paint waiting to be applied! |
John Treadaway | 27 Nov 2014 7:59 a.m. PST |
BTW, have I mis-understood it, or does the Mobile Infantry Tank Destroyer Detachment only have 6 TUs ? Spot on: technology is the answer. Both of the Raeside missile systems have sniper pods fitted so they sit at the back and fire missiles at whatever they want without exposing themselves – whilst also having the option of acting as forward observers for other people's missiles, arty etc. The sniper pods (Supplement 3) are, effectively, AI Snipers and count as an extra TU that sits in the vehicle all the time. The bad news, of course, is that – if you lose the Raeside (or the Banshee if you are using the lighter Police units) – you lose 2 TUs in the 'mounting chaos' loss of leadership confusion that follows. Lot's of useful electronics but then you really notice it when they go up the swanee… The Komodo finally gives me something to match the Slammers tanks The Komodo is as good as anything fielded. It's as tough as a Slammers Blower, faster and has more firepower. The TAS are – after all – meant to be the guys you send for to keep everyone else in check when they don't pay their bills… Back on weapons, the late blowers get a gun slightly more powerful than the Komodo (FP 3/9), but with just one shot: not four. If I were a Slammers player against them I'd have to have a Prime Detachment of late blowers PDF link and I'd be 'Double Tapping' my main guns continuously and praying that they don't jam (or – if they do – that I can fix them with my field mechanic!) Looking forward to seeing some of the Komodos in the flesh: note that the Marine Wraiths will need a pintel mount fitted. John T |

You know, they didn't really sing out to me in the Blue colouring – but Tony's picture of it in the brown of the master model actually makes me think of it as a Droid tank for a droid army ALA Star Wars episode 1… and I LOVE the idea now! It's amazing what a different colour scheme can do, I'm now sold on the models! |

Hmmm – I'll do that right now J EDIT: well, that's weird! It was there a couple of days ago!. Let me fix that and repost it! JT |

There you go Dave: fixed.
PDF link Strange one, that: it was fine on the sheet I'd constructed but fell off the end of the PDF. Not something I'd encountered before. I also took the opportunity to both list the Colonel's elite skills on the sheet in more detail (as I'm trying to do with all Big Detachment Sheets now when I revise them, to save having yet another play sheet on the table) and revise the cost of a Marine Colonel in line with Supplement 5 at 520pts not 350pts (as he was correctly listed on the older TAS heavy sheet but not this one: my mistake!) Have fun with your Komodos. And put lots of nasty stuff against them! John T |

Thank you John. I'm thinking those uppity Slammer's players in our group are in for a surprise! I'm looking forward to their appearing on the Brigade Models website for sale. I wonder when that's going to happen. Those guys are being monstrously productive recently with all their other releases. Too many things to buy with not enough time to paint or money to buy them all. That's actually a problem I'm enjoying the attempt to solve. |

No problems Dave. Brigade are certainly cranking it out… John T |
