We are very pleased to release the latest army for our War of the Spanish Succession range, the British. Arguably the best troops to fight in the war, that nation also had the distinction of providing the best commander, one of the great captains of history. (The British did not actually become "the British" until about halfway through the war, but we use that designation for convenience sake.)

Available sets are:

picture

British high command (the Duke of Marlborough wearing his gaiters, and two other general officers)

British cavalry command

British musketeers

We also have a set of British field artillery but it seems getting that painted slipped through the cracks!

Sculpted by Mike Broadbent, painted by Rafa. Available now, at the link below. Next up will be the rest of the Bourbon Spanish, followed by the Austrians. After the Austrians we will alternate between minor powers and filling in more troop types (like dragoons, guards and more grenadier variants) for the major powers.

Lovely figures. Knowing almost nothing about the period (yet), would these also be suitable for the '45 Jacobite campaign?

No, but you could use them for the '15.

What lovely figures – and good to see a sculptor making the cartridge boxes the right size (most manufacturers make them far too small).

After the Austrians we will alternate between minor powers and filling in more troop types (like dragoons, guards and more grenadier variants) for the major powers.

When you get round to the Bavarians, please can we have proper Bavarian grenadiers in the correct uniform with the axe, extra large cartouche and the big carriage pistol in the holster on the waistbelt, and not have to just make do with Austrians ("cos they look similar") as we do with most manufacturers? Thanks.

I'll second what Supercilius Maximus stated!

Just discovered the Savoy/Piedmont grenadiers had pretty much the same appearance.

These are great and in fact I have placed an order for them! My question is where to get suitable flags for the WSS to fit 18mm figures?
