Here's a report on our first go at AK47 Republic. A very enjoyable game, as well as providing a vehicle for the self-indulgent creation of semi-imaginary countries. As it was a first game we made a few mistakes with the rules, most notably the Hind wrongly crashed due to a random event roll. . . .

I enjoyed the original AK47 the latest version seems to have complicated things somewhat

Thanks for posting that Rabelais. Good pictures and fine painting. How did you get along with the asset system in the new rules?

Seemed very straightforward. I went 'all in' every time through not wanting to miss any. I've not played the old version of AK47 Republic at all, so I can't compare the two sets, I'm afraid.

"Why did you let Abu Hamza drive?"

I'll be chuckling about that one for a while… :)

Figures look fantastic, I thought they were 20mm until I read the end of the blog. Great looking game!

You can customise the assets for a scenario game if the opponent agrees. We did this for a couple of games with success. Anyway…nice game

Damn Abu Hamza and his boozed-up-short-sighted-speaking-on-the-phone-whilst-driving ways.

Very cool report. I hope you guys hummed Ride of the Valkyries when that massed Hilux techncial charge came in.
