link Ugh, my personal experience with business mergers is quality is the first thing to go as profits have to grow no matter what. |

Hmmm, it's called a merger but other than some possible product swapping and access to each other's organized play resources I'm not sure the relationship is really that close. Both companies are retaining their respective logos, IP, etc, so it doesn't seem like a full-on merger to me. Unless it is just a bid to have someone like Hasbro to come and buy them up. -Will |

Large sums of stock are changing hands. That would seem like a merger to me. |

It is Asmodee buying FFG and continuing to operate it as a division, it sounds like. it is clearly a merger because the discussion is of "the newly combined entity" and such. Sounds like they are wanting to better compete against Hasbro, etc., than get bought by them. Makes you really wonder whether Games Workshop is in their crosshairs. |

On the one hand, I'm not a fan of mergers and consolidation, because in many industries it means a few companies come to dominate the market, leading to a decline in innovation. On the other hand, I have a hard time seeing that here. There already are a ton of board games coming out on the market, in part to funding mechanisms like Kickstarter. |

I remember when FF was just starting out. First met them at Gen Con in '97. They were selling their first game Twilight Imperium. |

FFG is doing just fine with a significant chunk of GW's IP. Them having ALL of it would be better. |
