One of the most persistent requests I've gotten have been a scifi version of "No End in Sight".

I've been working on it pretty steadily and this week, it will be available as a paid beta.
Essentially you'll get the early version for a reduced price, along with all the updates until (and including) the final version.

So what will "No Stars in Sight" be like?

*Uses the straight-forward engine from No End in Sight. More realistic casualty rates, balancing how much you push your commanders, reaction fire built into the movement rules and dependent on how much you gamble.

An infantry driven game where every inch of open ground becomes an agonizing decision.

*Platoon level combat. A typical game can range from a few powered armour teams to a full platoon of infantry with several supporting vehicles.

*Hard scifi near future setting with a good selection of futuristic weapons and vehicles.

*Tons of scifi gadgets.

*Campaign rules and loads of options to set up the units you want.

Watch this space.

Missed a bit: It's aimed, sort of kind of, at 15mm but you should be able to play with anything based individually from 6 to 28.

Movement ranges will be a bit short in 28mm though.

Okay, the BETA is available now

At the moment, it's about 10 pages worth of new gear, gadgets and troop types with much, much more to come.

You HAVE to have a copy of No End in Sight to play the beta at the moment. This will change as the final product will be a full stand-alone game but for now, I want to repeat:

YOU NEED A COPY OF NO END IN SIGHT TO PLAY THIS BETA.

The cost to get the beta is 9.99. The final price will likely be 14.99, with the page count clocking in around 90-100 pages. So you can think of the beta as a discounted early-access as well.

Since it is through wargamevault, you will get all updates as the game progresses. Nice and easy.

(And yes, the art is a temporary image, not a final cover)

Everything coming together nicely. Weapons are pretty much all done, along with vehicles.

Drones, hacking and other gadgetry coming up next.

All basic rules are set, aliens, campaigns and scenario generator missing though and not all the tech is done.

At this point, you could play, without owning No End in Sight, though it's still recommended.

Word count about 14.000 words at the moment. I imagine the total will be about 30.000
