This week the Harford Area Weekly Kriegspielers (HAWKs) helped facilitate a senior leader professional development for a military unit. We used several sets from the Look, Sarge family of rules.

Nice ! Incidentally I am very curious about the conclusions. Has anybody made notes of the after-battles-discussion ?

I didn't take notes, but the post-games discussion wasn't so much conclusions oriented, but was more centered on what the commandeers' plans had been, how well these plans were followed once stuff hit the fan, and what was done to fix situations that arose, as well as what surprises arose.
Many of these folks were totally new to miniatures games. These rules accent combat friction and the players were surprised at the difficulty they encountered in coordinating large forces, and that troops didn't always do what you want them to do.

Buck et al,
Where is that signal BN located? I can't seem to place that unit and I used to command a Signal BN so it bugs me.

Looks like a good set of games and that Buck ran a by the book AAR right out of O/C training. Do you know if they built tactical pretraining into their YTC?

When I was G3 I used to run CPX's accross a three state area using phone and computers to require comunication friction. I also required planning processes to be followed- this was always the precursor trainng before we went overseas to a JCS exercise.

I know that most enjoyed it and it sure helped the staff processes.

Has anyone ever hosted games for ROTC programs? I wonder if they would be interested? I have over one thousand Crimean War that sits in my curio and stares back at me, and the armies keep getting bigger ….

Clays Russians--that's great if you can convince someone to play the cavalry at Balaclava. 8^D
