Really nice looking game! I am a dyed in the wool fan of Field of Battle. I think most of our games run 3 hours or less. We have used it for Naps, WWI Eastern Front, Zulu War, ACW, Austro-Prussian War and are planning on American Rev, SYW, FPW, Crimean War, WWI Middle East, 1914 Western front, ECW, Boxer Rebellion, 1877 Russo Turkish war, Sudan 1890's, Boer war and a couple of others. We're quite close to using it for later War World War II in Europe. I also want to do France 1940.

My buddy Ed and I believe it truly IS the 'Holy Grail' of wargaming rules.

Thanks,

John

Yeah a great rule system all together.

Any of you lads heard anything about how Brent's ECW rules are progressing?

PKay Inc16 Nov 2014 2:33 p.m. PST

Great game and report – I enjoyed reading the AAR.

The ECW rules are a work in progress – more or less in parallel with the creation of my ECW armies, which is progressing well.

My current rule development and writing is for '39- '45, the WW2 game (1 infantry unit is a squad, 1 AFV unit is a section, weapon unit is a section).

Those are some pretty serious looking cards you're using there. Did you produce them yourself?
I didn't know there was an ECW variant in the pipeline!!!

FoB is also my favorite set of Horse and Musket rules. Thanks for the BatRep…I need to dig my troops out grin

ECW rules? I was just thinking of getting into the ECW period……

And yes, where did you get the cards?

Dave

The FoB 2nd edition cards are available through the piquetwargames.com website.

Sgt Steiner16 Nov 2014 6:45 p.m. PST

The cards were bought from Brent when FOB2 came

No idea if still available ?

Edit – answered by Brent :-)

Looking forward to the new WW2 set

Cheers
