It is sad, that in a city approaching 5 million, I cannot get 20mm plastic soviets. It shows the niche market I am, and I am grateful that Australian custom does not yet collect duty on the items I currently purchase. |

Hobbyco should have a fair bit for you. |

I did not want to mention names…but that place was really a fail…for wargamers…where's the model colour? Where's Testors Dullcoat? Where's the new plastic? Cudos to War and Peace games. Go Monmorah ! ;) |

"I am grateful that Australian custom does not yet collect duty on the items I currently purchase." I've been ordering hobby related goods from overseas for over forty years now- got slugged for duty once, in all this time, for some Platoon 20 Miniatures back in the early eighties. Had some parcels opened for inspection over the years, but not many. The last of those would have been five or six years ago. For any package smaller in volume than a good sized shoe box, I don't think you will ever have any worries. But yes, we can be grateful and, it's just as well. I could never have followed through on any of my hobby interests, if I'd been compelled to deal solely with local retail……… Duck |

Our Local Hobby Store in Brisvegas has always been a mecca. Hobbyrama always had literally hundreds of boxes of plastic figures on the shelf up to a month or two ago when they started to disappear. I asked the owner why & he said he'd stopped ordering because they'd stopped selling. Great business plan….. Looks like mailorder is the go. It's always been cheaper but I wanted to support the mug at Hobbyrama & was prepared to pay extra.

"Looks like mailorder is the go. It's always been cheaper but I wanted to support the mug at Hobbyrama & was prepared to pay extra." Over the years, I think we've all thought like this, at one time or another. Duck |

you have to buy 1,000 bucks worth, including postage before they even think about it. |

I have to agree completely with sillypoint. I live in Sydney, and work in CBD. Its been many a year now that theres been a store that stocks a large range of 1/72 / 20mm plastics. Hobbyco has some Airfix and Italeri, but thats pretty much it. Still, its the way of things, the interet has changed everything, but mostly for the better. I have been buying from a place in the US "Toy Soldier HQ". Really good range, reasonable prices, and they ship quickly. And no problems with customs. Rob |
