I was a bit so-so about the movie but I really liked the robots:

Surely these will join the pantheon of 'Great Movie Robots'?

A very worthy picture, and I'm glad it was made. But yeah, just wish Nolan had decided to do a balls to the wall science and space exploration movie and not just half a film. I don't think the film's other half is that bad, and I didn't mind the execution of the ending. Just found the why they were doing was no where near as interesting as what they were doing.

That one 'bot sounds like some Slim Pickens.

And the other sounds like Roddy McDowall

I still like to watch this film, wish it would come out in Blu Ray (the 79 one that is)

When they first came on the screen, I thought they were a dumb design. Then when the one went after Brand and changed into an "Asterisk" I realized the potential in the design.

But really it was their personalities that made it.

"Tars does enough talking for both of us, sir!"

I think the slab-like appearance of the Interstellar robots TARS and CASE may be a nod to the '2001: A Space Odyssey' Monolith.

They were certainly cool as hell.
Not as cool as Maximilian, but still cool.

The guy stuck on the orbiter for 20 something years needed a fem-bot.

Other than that the worst space movie in recent memory.
