So, I'm trying to build a reading list of useful books on tactics of the Napoleonic era. I'm including some on the 18th century and the Revolution because they give insight (the latter especially) into the roots of the Napoleonic period, but I also don't want to turn it into a list of every horse and musket era book on tactics.

I'm also trying to focus specifically on tactics--not uniforms, organization, battle or campaign history except as they bear on the subject of tactics (one paragraph describing a tactical event in one battle is not enough).

Also, not so interested in operational or strategic art. Those are important parts of period warfare, but I'm most interested in just the activity once the battlefield is reached.

Accessibility (physical and linguistic) is an issue, but doesn't need to be a show-stopper, especially in this day and age of GoogleBooks.

Here's my *starting* point (obviously an incomplete list--hence the call for input). What else do you think should be added?

Blond, Georges. La Grande Armée.

Duffy, Christopher. Military Experience in the Age of Reason.

Elting, John. Swords Around a Throne. [Admittedly, not a ton on tactics, but I can't leave it out…]

Griffith, Paddy. The Art of Warfare in Revolutionary France 1789-1802.
----- French Napoleonic Infantry Tactics 1792-1815.

Haythornthwaite, Phillip. British Napoleonic Infantry Tactics.
----- Napoleonic Heavy and Dragoon Cavalry Tactics.
----- Napoleonic Light Cavalry Tactics.
----- Weapons & Equipment Of The Napoleonic Wars.

Hofschroer, Peter. Prussian Napoleonic Tactics 1792-1815

de Jomini, Henri. Précis de l'Art de la Guerre.

Lynn, John. The Bayonets of the Republic.

Muir, Rory. Tactics and Experience of Battle in the Age of Napoleon.

Nafziger, George. Imperial Bayonets.

Nosworthy, Brent. The Anatomy of Victory: Battle Tactics 1689-1763
----- With Musket, Cannon, & Sword: Battle Tactics Of Napoleon And His Enemies.

Paret, Peter. Yorck and the Era of Prussian Reform.

du Picq, Ardent. Battle Studies.

Riehn, Richard. 1812: Napoleon's Russian Camapign. [Has an extensive section on tactics.]

Rogers, H.C.B. Napoleon's Army.

Rothenberg, Gunther. The Art of Warfare in the Age of Napoleon.

de Warnery, Charles. Remarques sur la Cavalerie.

Not a whole lot of priamry sources there, but I'm looking primarily for a list of analyses, rather than a mass of accounts to sort through and do new analysis. That would be interesting too (a list of good first-person accounts), but that would be a separate list.

Not a recommendation for a specific book, but lots of interesting volumes were linked to in this old thread, some of which may be helpful:
