Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had used either the PSC or Warlord Games/ Bolt Action British Uniform primer sprays, and what they thought as to the colour accuracy itself?

Yes- I do have an airbrush, and yes- I do know that uniforms varied enormously 'in the field', but spray cans have a definite place for banging out batches bigger than you'd want to do by brush undercoating but smaller than justifying setting up and cleaning out the airbrush, and I'd just like to know if either of these sprays did what they said on the tin?

Cheers! :O)

I use the PSC British Khaki. To my eye it's good representation of the color and just plain old looks good on the figures.

The can is also a good value. I've primed over 50 figures and still have some paint left.

Im using PSC British Uniform spray atm and it seems to work great.

Would the PSC spray work with a finish of Army-painter dip over the top? or would it become too dark?
I have a load of 1/32 British to do, and this could be a god-send.

I use Army Painter Skeleton Bone as a primer and base coat for desert vehicles and infantry. I then wash the vehicles with AP Strong Tone and the infantry with AP Soft Tone. I then hit the details and that's it. It looks pretty good and is rather quick to do.

I bought some of the Bolt Action British Uniform spray at a recent show. It seems to be a good base color. Coverage is good, if it does dry quite 'shiny'.

My intention is to drybrush a lighter shade over the top and use Army Painter strong tone followed by a matt varnish.

For desert figures, I use Army Painter desert yellow followed by a very light 'dusting' of AP skeleton bone, again followed by AP strong tone.

I'm hoping to upload some photos to my blog as soon as I find time.

I have used the PSC spray for German panzer grey and my Russian uniforms and they match exactly to the Vallejo paint that I apply by hand. I would think it just as accurate for the British uniforms.

Regarding Army Painter dip/washes, I use them as well (on everything). I'm using the light shade on them and am very satisfied with the results (followed by a paint on matte finish).

Bear in mind these guys didn't just step out of the showroom- they're bound to have some dirt & grime on their uniforms.
