Briefly, Warfare in the Age of Madness allows players to create their own "factions", sort of like "AK-47 Republic" but in a modern/near future setting.

The game includes sci-fi elements such as mechs, full carapace body armor, and hover craft, but it assumes humanity is till earth bound to a post-apocalyptic earth. (The rules can be used for anything from moderns to near future/sci-fi and one fellow wrote to tell us he's using them for WWII which was actually the system's origins).

Black Cavalier's entry was amazingly creative (it included cows!) and tied into the games loot scavenging theme beautifully with his Interstellar Salvage theme.

So congratulations to Black Cavalier who won a $30 USD gift certificate at Scale Creep Miniatures (a full Age of Madness infantry army usually costs less than $30 USD and is about the size of a DBA army).

Our next contest, after the holidays, will be for best vehicle design/kit bash. We only publish rules and don't make miniatures, so we encourage folks to be creative and flexible in using whatever troops they have. In Cavalier's case he re-purposed individually based figures for use as Age of Madness elements which works perfectly well (I hate re-basing and have done the same thing myself for the game).

Very clever.
Undoubtedly the best use of bovines since the invention of BBQ.

The cows definitely tipped the scales in Nils' favor.

One of the judges has giant, mutant ferrets in his army, so the entry was near and dear to his heart.

I tend towards mainstream or conventional modern forces with riflemen backed by IFVs but still appreciated the time, effort, and creativity of his entry.

The farthest I go is with Halo-style full carapace infantry supported by mechs (Khurasan makes some excellent sci-fi figures which are perfect for near-future armies).
