Does anyone know when this starts? I saw it last year but didn't make a purchase and would really like to do so this year. Also, does anyone have specifics for what is normally offered? I know there are some added extras and a coupon for use later…. |

I took last year off from the GZG sale, but normally there's a window of a couple of weeks in December where if you order, you get some freebies thrown in (in line with what you've bought) and an individualized coupon for use in the winter. The degree of discount depends on how much you spend in December, IIRC. Despite me being vague, it is one sale I look forward too and I foresee some spaceships being picked up this year… |

You would be well advised to check his website's news feed every day. I missed out on a 20% off 4-day sale for Halloween, because I only check about once a week. I would have ordered if I had known about it. I wish he had an RSS feed or something, so we'd immediately know about sales. |

@billco Are you on the saved-from-Usenet maillist? It's almost moribund, but Jon does post sales notices. He just announced plans for Warfare, and two new 15mm goodness, but I'm a big harumph about notices for Brit cons, given I don't cross-Briny swim all that well… ;->= Doug |

Doug, No, I came along after that. I did sign up for the "newsletter" on his website, but I've never seen anything come from that. I haven't been able to find a GZG Facebook page other than the one for the East Coast yearly convention. Guess he doesn't do Facebook?
Ja Def, can you say which groups you got info from? I'd appreciate it. :)

Guess he doesn't do Facebook? Wouldn't know, as neither do I. I'm assuming the FT Facebook gets notices. Jim Klein and crew are properly rabid. I also see notices on a few Yahoo! groups I follow. Although Jon may not give advance notice, he is usually good at letting you know as the special offer actually starts. He usually posts here, as well as the SFSFW Yahoo Group. So just keep an eye out here and folks should be ok. |

The Society of Fantasy and Science Fiction Wargamers. As Jon is one of the manufacturers who gives discounts to members, he posts notices there. I'm pretty certain his Tacship game first appeared in the Society's magazine, Ragnarok, so he's a supporter in more ways than one. It's been pretty quiet of late, but I'm a quiet guy.

Apologies for the late response. I ordered a Intro Fleet for the Japanese, with a few extra ships to round out the group (a carrier, battleship, and a few cruisers). Jon included as a freebie the Japanese fueling ship. It's a good value, as the ship is priced comparably to capital ships. The neat thing was Jon remembered an earlier email question I sent him concerning swapping out the corvettes and frigates of the fleet packs since I didn't use them much in gaming. Knowing that, he purposely included on big ship instead of lots of smaller ones. First rate service! |
