Hello friends,
I posted in the blog some pics from my collection regarding the British foot Guards at Waterloo.
Miniatures are Ab 18mm.
The figure basing system is for Shako II,12 miniatures for battalion (1/60 scale).

Comments and critics always welcome.

If you can paint to this standard in 18mm….respect!
We have had much discussion of the white overall trousers for the Guards, in this forum, before. I am convinced it is a result of a misunderstanding, but it looks great, if in one unit only.

I have no idea if the flags are the right way around for Guards…..always a law to themselves as to which is the Regt and which the King's Colour…..but someone will……..well done!

Beautiful figs and what amazing painting! As Deadhead says, at 18m that is insanely good, better than most 28mm!

As far as I understand the Guards battalions had their colours carried the reverse way compared to Line units.

Yours are perhaps wrong or maybe I am wrong.

Surely someone will come along and purport to be definitive.

Good painting none-the-less.

Dorsenne,

I really can't wait to game with these masterpieces.
Maybe you're planning a new game for the next 18 June?
;^))

The colours are reverse for the Guards.

Cardinal Hawkwood12 Nov 2014 2:28 p.m. PST

yes the Union pattern was the regimental colour and the crimson patter was the King's colour, hence the Crimson should be to the right of the Union

Thanks to all for comments. I am not an expert in British army and I didn't known Guards carried colours in reverse way.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Really nice! The belts and straps are so cleanly and precisely outlined! Thanks for posting.

great looking work – excellent painting, there I am not into the British army as well, I am surprised to see the Guard colours in scarlet, so far I was under the impression that they were crimson.

Great looking figures. Frankly, who cares which colors were carried to which side? Only the British would think to make such a distinction for their Guards, LOL!
