Ugh…that poor unit standing at attention using the "Claw grip" from Hardees…. Much better to use Gilhams…. But they do look superb! |

I've got hundreds of Dixon's as well. You've done a great job. |

These look fabulous, how grand they all look together using the same manufacturer. I have always been drawn to the dixon line for all the different sculpts. Now tell me about your terrain pieces, scratch built or manufactured. |

Thanks guys for the feedback, I'm abit of a Dixon fan! I've being collecting them since day one and I can't see that ever changing. Painter Jim, all the buildings are scratchbuilt, cardboard, balsa, PVA and fair amount of time! but i do enjoy scratchbuilding. I've got an album on my P/B link I've even got a step by step build that may be some use. If you have any questions just give us a shout So thanks again cheers Russ |

Thanks for all the positive comments guys, I must admit that my ACW stuff has taken aback seat for a while now. I wouldn't say I'd burnt myself out but it was nice to take a break and recharge my batteries! So come the new year I will be hopefully adding both to my grey horde and my slightly smaller blue horde, and hopefully adding some more scratchbuilt buildings to my stalled collection. So thanks again Cheers for now Russ |

Those look great! I love Dixon's and they have a lot of their own charm and character on the table-top! |
bracken | 15 Nov 2014 12:15 a.m. PST |
Thanks Aspern 1809, I think with Dixon you either love them or hate them! I love em, like every one has said they brim with character. Painting them is a real joy, they almost paint themselves, Either that or I've painted that many that its become second nature to me. The boys in blue are lacking in numbers compared to my Rebs, I may have to try and remedy that! It's nice to know that my years of painting and collecting have given me a collection to be proud of Thanks again cheers for now Russ |

Both my armies North and south are Dixons figs. They are definately some of the best figs around for that war.I love their character filled faces. Your rebs look well painted, well done. Pete |
