Semper Fi fellas. Hard to believe another year has gone by. It never leaves you though, does it? Ten years later I still think about it every day, more than once. Hell, a lot more than once. Actually, I can't get it outta my head!

Jack

Next year I will have been out for 5 times as long as I was in… Happy Birthday, all you present and former Marines!

Bismarck10 Nov 2014 2:36 p.m. PST

was it really almost 5 decades ago when i stepped on those yellow footprints at MCRD San Diego? nawhh! no way.

do any of you other "Old Corps" Marines look at these young lads and think…"good Lord, these are just children"?

if you hav'nt had chance to talk to, thank them, or just say "welcome home", take the effort do do so.

they are too darned young, "maybe" tougher or just as good as we were. well…."lads" you might be better, but at least we can call it a draw.

your wars lasted longer than ours, there was no 13 months and freedom bird. discuss technology or, God forbid, changes with these young hard charging Marines and you will definitely feel like a dinosaur.

Yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Happy Birthday and Semper Fi!

Sam
