link I know it isn't strictly a miniature gaming topic, but it's too relevant not to share. I think they did a great job of nailing the feel of the game in a card-format!

Nah never been into the collectible card game thing. |

I don't think it's collectible the way Magic etc is; Fantasy Flight have their own line of card games with a fixed range of cards with (iirc) no randomness, you buy the game you get all the cards. But you still have the fun (if that's your thing) of deckbuilding to defeat your opponent. |

Yep, that's right- no randomness. Just mini "expansions". |

This is a Living Card Game LCG and not a CCG. Big difference since you get all of the cards at once and not have to buy booster after booster. Though I do expect new expansions of new cards. I have this game but have not yet played it. Thing is they should have used Dark Angels instead of the EMO Ultramarines. |

I believe Dark Angels will come up sometime later. They already have a Space Wolves hero in an expansion. The interesting things about the warlords are that they have a fixed retinue of cards that's really thematic. I plan to buy only the base game though with this one (with 7 races!), and maybe the 'Nid/Cron deluxe expansions. |

Though I did hear that for you to build all seven starting forces in decks you would need at least two and maybe three of the starter set. |
indierockclimber | 11 Nov 2014 8:37 a.m. PST |
Well, yes and no. The core set comes with 7 (of the 9) factions fully represented. BUT there's only really enough cards to build 3 variations of each deck (which is still 21 combinations…) but you need more core sets to have full flexibility. |

True 2-3 starter sets, which by the way is still cheaper than when I was playing Legends of the Five Rings (Dragon Clan). So LCG is far better than CCG. |
