Anyone make these in 6mm, please?

Check Iron Wind Metals. Their Crimson Skies miniatures have several autogiro and ornithopter miniatures.

not sure they have ornithopters at all in Crimson Skies . . . I think Irregular do one, though.

CW, the picture is one of the Crimson Skies models. Look them up. Are these not ornithopter? Maybe I don't know what one is?

An ornithopter (from Greek ornithos "bird" and pteron "wing") is an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings. Designers seek to imitate the flapping-wing flight of birds, bats, and insects. Though machines may differ in form, they are usually built on the same scale as these flying creatures. Manned ornithopters have also been built, and some have been successful. The machines are of two general types: those with engines, and those powered by the muscles of the pilot.

So, an orinthopter is not a helicopter.

That is a gyrocopter, an early version of a helicopter using non-powered rotors for lift.

Terry Sofian designed his based on a WWI Albatross. Cut the wings off and attached fore and aft on the fuselage appearing to swing, bird-like.

I suppose there are 1/300 planes you could give a similar treatment, aren't there?

Wasn't the good professor in Young Sherlock Holmes attempting ornithoptor goodness? I always wondered why he didn't shanghai Holmes. Strong and wiry is what you need.

Don't you hate when an old man's mind wanders?
