Just what it says in the title:

What is your favorite ruleset for mid-18th century Grand Tactical play, focusing on the era and tactics of the armies of Frederick the Great, his allies and his enemies, during the War of the Austrian Succession (including the Silesian Wars), and the Seven Years War as it was fought in Europe?

Thanks in advance for all recommendations. Cheers.

Might and Reason. We have done the largest WAS and SYW battles with M and R.

Might and Reason for me as well.

Might and Reason is fun. I've enjoyed it quite a bit.

Really WSS, but I've used it for WAS and SYW, "Twilight of the Sun-King". Play Mollwitz in 60-90 minutes. Each unit is a brigade.

Mine.

"Oh God! Anything But a Six!"

Another vote for Might and Reason.

I use Volley and Bayonet with great success.

Might and Reason.

I'll second 'Twilight of the Sun King' for playing large battles in reasonable time. Quick to learn and difficult to master.

Two I like playing:

"Might and Reason"

"Age of Honor/Age of Eagles" by Bill Gray. Must buy both. Fire and Fury based.

I'd like to thank the many respondents. MaR and V&B (complete with both SYW supplements) are very likely my next two purchases, followed by TotSK and KotB. I recently bought WitAoR (with both supplements), so I have some reading to do! I think that'll keep me busy this winter.

I'll add AoH/AoE to the list when I get closer to playing Napoleonics.

And I need to remember to send Otto my address!

Still haven't mailed OSchmidt, forgetful person that I am.

I do want to thank you all for the many suggestions though.

I'll soon have WitAoR, KotB, MaR and V&B. Should keep me busy for a while. Really looking forward to a year of reading and playing.

I really appreciate the resource that is the TMP community.

Cheers, fellow historians and players.

I'll add Koenig Krieg to the list.
