…Better and Better. "The U.S. Marine Corps has decided to bring forward the retirement date of its 108 AV-8B Harrier jump jets from 2030 to 2025. But in their remaining decade of front-line service, the diminutive attack jets could get a host of upgrades—including new weapons, jammers and communications. The airframes are getting OLD. The USMC had to buy all the Sea Harriers to cannibalize them for parts. Not to mention that it's pretty typical for any military weapon to be significantly improved over the years. It's just that the replacement is a LOT better. |

The USMC had to buy all the Sea Harriers to cannibalize them for parts. The USMC brought Harrier IIs from RAF, not Sea Harriers. Sea Harriers are very different from a normal Harrier II. |
