Just came back from Fall-in and I was watching the movies and the Bella & Blade Booth. They where showing a Japanese movie, I assume it was 1938 against the Russians. The Russians had BT-7 & T-26 tanks. Anyways, the Japanese attacked the Russian tank force with Trucks that had 55-gallon drums of some explosive attached to the front bumper. They would try and drive the truck into the tank! All looks very impressive but I've never heard of that tactic.

Was that something the Japanese actually did or is this pure 'Hollywood'.

Thanks,
Dale

in 1945 in the Philippines the Japanese attached explosives to the front of two of their five remaining tanks and rammed and blew up two Shermans.

As noted, Korean movie "My Way", based on the Korean conscript who wound being captured on D-Day by American troopers

Great movie, fantastic scenes, I think the gasoline versus tank thing was made up but the scenes with Russian armour over-running Japanese positions is as I read pretty much what happened in Khalkhyn Gol, especially initially – Zhukov's first counter-attack was with 450 tanks and essentially no infantry support

Well, they used lunge mines… Dudes carrying long poles with a mine attached. They would run into a tank and blow it up(along with themselves). Just another Kamikaze tactic.

Also, that tactic works pretty well in Battlfield 2 with c4 and a jeep…
