Wargames Foundry recasts three sets of North American Indians in 25mm : Algonquin, Huron, Chocktaw, Creek, Illinois but no Mohicans. The miniature of the week is a veteran from the eighteenth century.

You know some ding dong is going to say that they sold the Last of the Mohicans years ago……

I'll resist the tempatation! That Veteran is interesting though…a whole battalion perhaps?

Glad you like them my friend.

There is one figure from the original set that Foundry has not re-released – a woman, sculpted from the 1585 John White painting 'A werowance's wife of Pomeioc'. Wearing a deerskin skirt and carrying a clay pot, she was a useful subject for many pre-contact and early contact tribes in North and South America.

Good historical figures of women are rare, and it's a shame to lose this gal. Originally the Foundry 16th-17th Century Indians were sold in single-pose packs of six. I suppose Pomeioc woman doesn't fit the new multi-pose packaging. I have four examples in my collection, I'd buy another pack if one was available.

On the front page it says 28mm, you said 25mm. How do they compare size wise?

My opinion is that they're 'big' 25s. Height is only a little taller that 'true' 25s, but they're distinctly bulkier – look at the musculature, especially the naked chests. They mix great with Old Glory F&IW, Conquest, Eureka or Perry, all 'big' 25mm lines. They mix well with regular 28s, but they're noticeably smaller than the bigger 28s like Front Rank or Blue Moon.
