By Lieut. Col. A. Emmerich

I found this while looking for SYW material on Wikipedia. The full text can be found on an external link from the wiki page. The book is a discussion of "the use of a Corps of Light Troops to an Army" and was published in 1789. The author apparently served in both the SYW and AWI.

While veterans may already know of the work, as a somewhat raw recruit, with an interest in light troops of the era, I am finding it quite enlightening.

Very interesting looking link. I just have begun to add AWI to my projects. I have done it to my favorites for later reading.

FYI, one of Lefferts' illustrations depicts Emmerich's Chasseurs.
