Dear friends of TMP, I know most the uniforms of the Waterloo period, one seem to elude me however. The first Nassau regiment seemed to have a third batalion classified as landwehr (militia), I never came across a good plate of its uniform or even a good description. all I found is that the uniform differed from the others (but how?) and that they did not have elite companies. Any Nassau experts here that can shed a light on this (and refer me to the best 28mm figures to create this batalion) Thank you |

Have you tried the CentJours website? The third battalion is shown in a different uniform here link |

Great link Ligniere, that's exactly what I was looking for, seems that the standard Nassau figures with another (simpler ) paint job might do the trick. Much appreciated! |

There's a plate here, click the "Uniformes" link. link I'm not sure how accurate it is maybe someone else can comment on it but the uniform is different from the first two battalions and certainly looks lower in status with the black belts and plain trousers, so could be appropriate for a militia battalion. You may be interested in this if researching the Nassau troops at Waterloo. This was posted on TMP a week or so ago. link |

According to the German language history of the Regiment the Landwehr Bn. of the 1st Nassau did have Elite Cos. but I've never seen any plate showing if they wore a different uniform. They may have worn wings or epaulettes like the flankers of the other bns. |

Ive recently been working on the Nassaus as well and painted as per previous posts. Don't forget the JagerKorps. Company strength, uniformed as the regulars but all equipment leathers were black, probably drawn from the stores of the old armed with the old 3rd Btn. It appears they were armed with a rifle. source W Rawkins Army of Nassau 1806-15 |

some good info here, I had the Jägers as Perry produces them. I'll just stick to having 3rd btn 1st Nassau without the flankers, distinguises them more from the other two Batalions |

On Napoleon Online I published a very comprehensive article of my good friends Peter Bund & Markus Gärtner about the Nassau infantry during the campaign of 1815. Although it's in German you may understand quite some of the stuff – follow this link and navigate to Organisation => organization of the infantry Feldzugsgeschichte => 1815 campaign history of the Nassau infantry Uniformierung => uniforms Anhang => attachment, i.e. OOB of 1815 Greetings from Berlin (now celebrating 25 years of wall opening) Markus Stein |

Thankyou Markus Deutsch ist kein problem für mich. I really like the amount of info that turns up here. |
