Well, finally, Little Green Army Men have been chosen for induction (sorry, no pun intended) into the National Toy Hall of Fame.
Well done troops!
My play as a kid usually centered around these guys. I used Lincoln Logs to build forts for them, and Legos to make walls, bunkers, houses, etc…
Oh, and I dug up Ma's garden quite a bit too. Hard to dig trenches on linoleum.

Whoo-Hoo! Had about a squad each of the Marxx 6"(?) German & American Soldiers, about 50 billion (No, I did not count them!) 1/72 plastic US, British, German and Japanese troops. The HO guys had lots of Roco Minitanks for support.

Anyhow, when I was about 7 or 8, my parents added a room onto the back of the house. The dirt pile leftover from digging out the foundation made for an awesome battlefield. Many years later, when leveling that area out to put in a rock garden, they found all kinds of soldiers, astronauts, cars, dinosaurs, and planes. I don't think any of these would be considered "museum" quality.

I saw this on the Today Show this morning and thought, "They haven't already been in the National Toy Hall of Fame?"

I had green Army men and the blue and gray Civil War set. Still have the ACW soldiers.
