For a post-apocalypse game, we were thinking of using construction vehicles as "home-made" combat vehicles. Anybody have sources for these, including 5 and 2.5 ton trucks? We'd like to use 28mm scale, but we can shift things downs to 20mm if that's what we can find. Thanks! |

I'd head to your local toy store and have a look around, especially in the off-brand and store brand sections. Usually there will be some "construction" playset in the $20 USD range that will get you a batch of appropriately sized vehicles. I recall seeing this playset in Toys R Us a few weeks ago link I can't remember exactly, but I think that the figures are pretty close to 28m as a general scale comparison. I think they also had pretty neat police and military versions. Their "Fast lane" brand often has pretty good stuff, often reboxed versions of known brands like New Ray. I've been happy with the vehicles I've gotten over the years. Beyond that, you'll find alot of construction die-cast and toys in 1/43 and 1/48 scale online. It's technically bigger than 28mm (1/56) but when you figure in the added chunk of most minis and the height of the base it fits well and, it looks right on the table.. Sometimes even dollar stores, though they tend to have smaller sized toys. I've got a small tractor with cab that I'd be willing to part with for a few bucks if that interests you. |

I use 1/43 scale cars and trucks with my Zombiecide minis. Looks perfect. As mentioned, they are lots of cheap Chinese diecast in this scale from just about any toy store/Walmart. |

CVS pharmacy has a good selection of 1/43 cars vans and trucks for $5 USD each, go load up on those. |

There are also lots of 1/50 diecasts that are useful. |

Another option is going to a heavy equipment dealership or farming implement dealership. We have a chain in our area called TSC (Tractor Supply Company) that sells lots of farming and animal related products. I stopped in a few weeks ago and saw a display of farming, civilian and construction toys. I found a nice 15mm bulldozer that will convert to an armored D9. There were vehicle of all scales and types. |

Wow – never crossed my mind to think of die cast toys stuff! Gives me a reason to hit some the places around here. |
