I am posting the link of Pro Gloria's Indiegogo campaign to crowdfund their 28mm plastic Landsknechts: link |
ordinarybass | 02 Nov 2014 2:27 p.m. PST |
Very nice! I can see alot of GW folks who would love to give their empire some affordable reinforcements. |
Puster | 02 Nov 2014 3:15 p.m. PST |
Finally. Contributed :-) I hope they will add the option for additional plastic sets (I am sure they will), for a real pikeblock looks better with a hundred men, or two-hundred. ;-) Perhaps this should also go into the Fantasy and Warhammer sub-forums, as I can see a lot of use for these. |
Phillius | 02 Nov 2014 10:45 p.m. PST |
I have a somewhat large number of lansknechts already, but I have made my contribution. |

24 Euros for 24 plastic figures seems a litte steep … |
Stosstruppen | 02 Nov 2014 11:15 p.m. PST |
It does include shipping so it does not seem that bad a deal. I really love this period but I don't know what I would do with 28mm Landsknechts. Mine are all in 15mm. However, it is still tempting…. |

I'm in, they will go well with my 6th edition Warhammer Empire army! |
Puster | 03 Nov 2014 5:58 a.m. PST |
For the Empire army, these are the best that had happened after the Perry minis went offline. Not only are they some 40% cheaper (without discounts – 1 EUR PG vs. 1.8+ GW) but they also look, imho, way better then the state troopers. You can probably even mix heads, arms and weapons. If only Empire would have pikes – but you can use them as spears and they DO include helbard heads. The world should somehow get out to the Empire players :-) |

"Perhaps this should also go into the Fantasy and Warhammer sub-forums, as I can see a lot of use for these." Done! |
Barin1 | 03 Nov 2014 6:34 a.m. PST |
Think I'll be backing this one too…ah, too my unpainted pile will for sure go up. Well, if smb will finaly do decent plastic cavalry "GW 28 mm size", I'm into it too ;) |
ordinarybass | 03 Nov 2014 7:41 a.m. PST |
Pumika I think the word will get out. I've posted the project over at dakka, though maybe when the project his a goal of some such it would be good to report it here on the warhammer forum. Barin1, Cavalry to go with these would be great! |
Joerg Bender | 03 Nov 2014 7:53 a.m. PST |
ordinarybass I made a link to this post both in the Fantasy and Warhammer Forums. |

These models are fantastic!!! Wow |
jakethedog | 03 Nov 2014 10:18 a.m. PST |
Despite the hype, I dont think many warhammer people will buy these since this set is for polearms and not swords not saying they're bad, they look pretty good. But proxying pikemen/halberds for people armed with swords probably doesnt sit well for some people |
davbenbak | 03 Nov 2014 10:53 a.m. PST |
Great looking figures. If I wasn't already so heavily invested in 1/72-25mm plastic figures I would be all over this. Great to have flags and a booklet included. I am greatly encouraged by how this crowd funders are filling the gaps left by the major players in the industry! |
wminsing | 03 Nov 2014 12:23 p.m. PST |
Don't many empire troops in Warhammer use halberds (which this box includes)? Or were those removed during one of the army book 'updates'? -Will |
YogiBearMinis | 03 Nov 2014 12:56 p.m. PST |
Halberds are fine for Warhammer 8th edition. They are listed as an option for state troops. My fear for this campaign is that the 30,000 Euro minimum will be hard to reach. That is over 1,200 boxes of landsknechts not even factoring much for group discounts. I will probably buy 3 boxes to match my 6th edition state troops (I have around 250 in that style), but I shouldn't need more than that. |

Can't be used for Warhammer. At all. They are not GW products! |
Puster | 03 Nov 2014 2:48 p.m. PST |
>They are not GW products! Thats why Gamezone has gone broke years ago… |
David Johansen | 03 Nov 2014 6:54 p.m. PST |
Finally a suitable replacement for the Warhammer 6ed Empire Troops! |
Khusrau | 04 Nov 2014 7:05 a.m. PST |
I have to say, that while I have no immediate use for these, they look to have some of the best faces I have ever seen. |
Musketier | 04 Nov 2014 7:05 a.m. PST |
"Can't be used for Warhammer. At all. They are not GW products!" - Sounds like a very good reason to so use them. Might even get me back into WHFB some day… |
Zargon | 04 Nov 2014 10:46 a.m. PST |
I'm looking at these longingly for my Empire army (which has never ever even fought a Warhammer Fantasy battle BTW:)I want to use them in the upcoming fantasy version of Sword and Spear (think these rules are going to be the cracker that starts up Not-Warhammer gaming world wide, hooray) Plus I'm sure these rules will allow pike in my army too :) Does anyone know how these fine fellas size up to the older 6th and before plastic and metals from GW/EE? I'm thinking of basing to the standard 20x20mm using multiples of the 40x40mm or even 60x40 (6 figure bases) I want to rebase most of my figures like this as I'm happy with the trend to multiple figure bases even for the GW figures. Cheers and happy gaming all. |
jwebster | 04 Nov 2014 12:36 p.m. PST |
Ordered I can't think that I really need them, but a great contribution to the plastic mountain John |
Puster | 07 Nov 2014 10:54 a.m. PST |
As these are their first plastics, its hard to say how they will rank up beside Perry or GW. Their metals are on the medium side, so looking large vs. Perry and small vs. GW, but fitting with both. I assume, however, that hese will be more on the large side and fit seamlessly next to GW plastics. |

These are beautiful figs, just fantastic. I wish them well! |
Frederick | 13 Nov 2014 6:24 a.m. PST |
Well, this little Empire player would be very keen Most of my Empire infantry regiments are based on blocks of halberdiers with handgunner detachments although I have a couple with spearmen blocks – since I mostly game with local guys and not at the GW store I am not concerned they are not GW |
Gunfreak | 13 Nov 2014 6:27 a.m. PST |
How come a post about historic miniatures posted on the renessanse board, is all about GW? |
Puster | 16 Nov 2014 4:22 a.m. PST |
Because the miniatures are, in style and size, perfectly suited for WFB Empire, perhaps even better then for historical gaming. Additionaly, at 30k we need the WFB players to reach the campaign goal. |
Gunfreak | 16 Nov 2014 6:55 a.m. PST |
I. Get it's suited. And have no problems with that. And wwelcome pledges by GW collectors. Just found the discussion a bit one sided. Especially since it was not crossposted to fantasy. |
