I'm struggling to find any solvaks and rh models is looking like a dead end.

I wondered if I could get away with using poles with elements filed down. From what I've read and seen, the are quite similar cut, and the webbing is fairly close. What do you think?

Also any suggestions on a 37mm czech at gun would be grand!

I'd say go for it. Just don't tell anybody who's Slovakian or Polish….

Well, I haven't tried turning Poles into Slovaks, but I'm currently trying converting U.S. infantry to Poles…

Katzbalger02 Nov 2014 8:57 a.m. PST

Using Poles as Slovaks in 20mm was one idea I had started on with Hat infantry, but that project got bumped by others so they've been plonked on top of the never-ending pile of future project stuff.

That said, I think the biggest problem will be converting the Browning BARs to the BREN-like Czech MGs.

But then, I'm more of a "close enough" modeler when it comes to this stuff--as long as the helmet and weapons are close, I don't really sweat the details of packs and other bits.

This has crossed my mind but I did think of doing a head swap on a Romanian lmg gunner from shell hole. Might work?

It's alright, Rh models have come through. Will still poles as command though!

I know FOW is usually 15mm, but this page has some potentially useful proxying info: link

I use Dutch as Slovaks, my 'platoon' being split between SHQ Dutch and RH Models Slovaks……

Raventhorpe make the 37mm anti tank gun. It's in their German list.

Seen that Jeff, tis pretty handy!

The Young Guard02 Nov 2014 3:18 p.m. PST

Aye Dave, they do but I tried emailing them and got nothing back!

Planet Models (www.cmkkits.com) also make the 37mm. I haven't seen it in the flesh but think it's resin and maybe a bit fiddly. It's certainly difficult, and relatively expensive, to get hold of.

Just out of interest have Raventhorpe got back to you ? I had a similar experience where it took ages to get a response to a message directed to the only address I could find (On the Rapid Fire site, I think). When they did reply it was to say I'd used the wrong address and could I resend to a different address. Forwarding it was obviously too difficult. We had an exchange of views and I've not bought anything from them since.

No Dave, never got back to us mate! I've used a polish gun instead with the theory they may have captured them during the invasion.

Seen the planet model one on ebay. Was very tempted but my mates are heavy handed and for over £20.00 GBP quid, wasn't going to risk.

Glad shell hole do the armoured car!
