One of the pictures I came across on line of Charles – of a painting I think – had the torn flag and so a bit of work with some small sharp nail scissors (which I have on hand for cutting out 10mm WW2 decals)and it gives a nice effect. One of the other advantages of using flags a bit larger than they should be is that you have more to work with.
