Today, we did a SofG game thanks to one of our members, Steve.
It was a fun game, and the AAR is on my blog at: link

Enjoy!

Cool, it's a great game.

Very interesting, thanks for the after action report.

Good write up there, and nice to see the improved paint job on the Commerce de Marseilles. Good luck waiting for "sales" though, Ares' seems to be as good at keeping SGN available as they are Wings of Glory, its already difficult to get hold of starter sets and some of the models at reasonable prices.

Great little game – when we did our first game, the Little Prince and his buddy (who each took the first rates) pounded each other to oblivion while the Missus and I shot it out at longer range, inflicting enough damage that we both withdrew

Fun rule set

Thanks for the AAR. Always nice to see a French victory! :)

Nice report. Are these the ships in the base set?

Are these the ships in the base set?

Not sure, I saw Steve put 2 back in the starter box, Aquilon being one.

PS: I am surprised how little there has been on TMP about this game, I think it deserves more attention!!!

The base set has one French ann British ship of the line and one frigate of each nationality. Probably he put the frigates back in the box since it looks like they used for ships of the line for the game.

The Royal George and the Queen Charlotte definitely came out of individual boxes, as I unpacked the Royal George, and saw Phil unpack the Queen Charlotte.

Yes, I just checked the Caliver website, the Commerce, Royal George and Queen Charlotte are all individual boxed models. link
