I was reading the latest issue of Aviation History magazine today and came across a great article on the first air raid on Berlin during WW2. Can you guess which country and in what year this raid occurred? If you guessed the RAF August 1940 retaliation raid, you would be incorrect. The first raid was conducted by the French Navy in June of 1940! The Jules Verne, a Farman NC.2234 auxiliary bomber made a solo raid on the night of 7 June. Here is a link that has more info: link |
