What options do I have to get FAA figures here in the UK? Is my only route that of ordering direct from the US and then forking over a considerable sum to HMRC? I am looking to buy a reasonable amount, probably a few hundred quids worth, but in the end, will I be better off spending my money elsewhere ie. in the UK, and save myself the money on customs and postage? |

I've looked for them in vain, I don't think there's any other way of getting them save direct and risking the tax. Even so I don't think there's anything they do which isn't made by UK based companies so unless you're a diehard fan of theirs you may as well shop 'local'. |

Christot, Which nations are you looking for as I know I have allot of British Para's,I'm not sure what else I have left. But I can let them go at a very reasonable price (half of what I originally paid for them) plus shipping at cost. Email me if you want me to look into what I have left. JBStachura at aol dot com. Thats a really kind offer, many thanks. Unfortunately Brit paras are not on my radar (although now you have me thinking). my main interest was for late British, plus late war Germs. |

What game are you planning for, Chris? Any chance you will go back to your blog? |

Is there any reason you are wedded to FAA? Cos in the UK you can get Battlefield / Blitz Miniatures, Elhiem, Wartime, CP Models, Under Fire Miniatures and of course, AB Figures. Check the galleries here; Www.guildwargamers.com |

Try combat miniatures; dunno if they're FAA but they look like them. Maybe Dave Allsop sculpts for another range? On a tablet so no link, sorry |

Not wedded to them at all (just as well!),and I will undoubtably mix and match anyway, but they always seem to have the largest range of 44 Brits apart from AB, and I'll probably want 200 or 300+ figures at which point price becomes a factor….seems like I'll end up paying AB prices anyway, so I'll probably end up there…just always liked the character of some of the FAA stuff, Wartime come close, but are a more limited range and they never seem to carry much uk stock, TQD are on disgusting slotta bases which is a real shame,Battlefield/Elheim nice for bits and bobs but again rather limited. Had a look at Combat miniatures but its hard to tell from their site- might need to get some samples- It'll probably end up with AB which is not like its such a terrible choice… No, Neil, highly unlikely I'll go back to blogging, getting these figures because…..I don't have any Brits! and want to try some stuff out for Battlefront WWII which I'm trying to get Mr Freeth into. |

I'm in the market for a few packs of late war Germans and British and would be happy to share shipping costs. Of course if others wanted to join a joint order and share shipping / tax costs then it should further reduce these costs to each individual. Just a thought |

What's wrong with the SHQ figures, maybe one of the largest most consistent ranges I guess? |
christot | 05 Nov 2014 1:45 p.m. PST |
Shq are nice enough, but for me a litle small, they "suffer" from actually being proportioned like human beings and as such tend to look a bit weedy plus their weapons are in scale and subsequently extremely delicate. (and their vehicles are lovely, but a total nightmare to assemble). Personal preference. |

I was able to drop shipping prices across the board this week. Shipping to the UK is now US $13.95 USD. If you look at the website we have the descriptions and figure counts done, and more photos being added constantly. Some larger versions of the photos are on our Facebook page. faaminiatures.com facebook.com/FAAminiatures Combat Miniatures belonged to Dave Alsop, but a number of FAA sculpts were done by him as well. |

I knew it! Good news about shipping Steve, some of my all time favourite figures in those ranges. Cheers |
christot | 06 Nov 2014 1:55 p.m. PST |
Thanks for that! been looking into the tax issue and its actually relatively simple providing its below certain levels, so a couple of seperate orders may make it worthwhile. I will be in touch. |

If the value stated on the parcel is more than 15 pounds you pay 20% vat plus a handling fee which iirc is 5 pounds. Oh Your parcel will be rifled through and occasionally delayed weeks. A dealer, otoh, only needs to register for vat if they sell over a threshold turnover per eu country. Iirc that's 79,000 pounds for the uk. Such a dealer operating out the uk – or some other eu country – could therefore sell a lot of miniatures spread across eu countries and still not charge vat. |

John, Do you still have FAA Para's? I'm mainly looking for glider pilots and pathfinders. Just to make the difference in my collection of AB, SHQ, TQD, Blitz, etc etc. Ludwig |
