Anyone know anything about this convention or Reading? I have an empty weekend the 15th and 16th and I have to be in England on the 17th… So I was thinking about stopping in Reading to check out this show. |

Directions etc here link More a shopping event than a playing games event, unless you have booked in for one of the competitions in advance. They are usually full up by now. Some participation games, that take upto an hour to play, and some demonstration games. Good if you want to fill your luggage allowance with stuff you would have to pay to ship across the Atlantic. |

Dervel, Warfare is run by our club, the Wargames Association of Reading. It is one of the bigger shows in the South of England, more so this year I think, due to the cancellation of Colours in September. There will be lots of traders; link and demo/participation games; link Whilst the competitions may be booked up, you should be able to find plenty to do. If you are in the area for the weekend, you've got Windsor nearby as well as London. Lots of other places within travelling distance if you let us know where you might be staying. |

Oh yes, many of the traders will make up orders for you to collect at the show too, saving on postage. |

I've been two or three times. Well worth a visit even without playing any games! (Although Reading's road system can be a bit naughty……) |

Warfare is a great show. One of my favorites in the UK. Only two weeks after Crisis in Antwerp…but I can live with that… |

Warfare is a very good show; usually my final show of the year after the two other autumn regulars Colours and SELWG (although Colours was missing this year). I like to collect a supply of Adler Minitures to keep me busy over the winter (which reminds me I must email Leon) and there are enough traders and games to keep you interested for quite a while. If you are proposing to use public transport then there is a very good service from London Paddington, with some of the faster services taking only about 30 minutes. The Rivermead venue is then about 10-15 minutes walk away and the directions are straightforward. All in all, thoroughly recommended. |

A great show although the main hall felt a little cramped now with all the traders. Great to see so many things there and always worth the trip over. |

Just out of interest. The newer "Impetus" rules are very similar to Armati. May interest you. Also the very new Sword and Spear rules are considered by many to be faster, more fun and better than either of the above. Just my opinion of course :) Glad you and everyone else had a great show |
