Oh man… The real mystery is how it got anywhere with such a bad early draft. Usually you don't get that many looks.

I would say it is a Damn OK movie myself. That original mumbo jumbo – I can see it getting excised in a rewrite. I know I have read of something similar but can't remember any of the details. We do like to bemoan studio execs when they "meddle" with films but it is for the best just as much as for the worst.
