Looking at BoardGamingGeek, there is pic after pic of gamers that have mounted up figs to play C&C Naps with…

Is this the perfect gaming system to introduce new gamers to Napoleonics minis gaming?

From what I have seen it would be an excellent gateway to introduce them to Naps minis.

What sayeth the forum?

Commands and Colors I think you mean. It was perfect for me at any rate.

It works for me. I abandoned Napoleonic Wargaming forty years ago, now it is only CCN that has lured me back into playing this period.

Hi Clays,

Absolutely, and I am contemplating what I would need to be able to do 1806 and 1812-15 without compromising my artistic sensibilities 😄 !

I only discovered C&C recently, and I'm hooked on the Napoleonics version. I keep thinking I should use some of my old 15mm collection on a hex grid, but I would need to build some hills first.

Doh!!!!

You are right.

I meant to say Command and Colors.

I must have been channeling my inner Homer Simpson on that one.

Glad everyone still knew what I meant.

If there is a game that brings new gamers into the fold I am all for it…

CCN may wind up being for Napoleonics what FOW was for WW2 minis… not a rivet counter portrayal of historical accuracy, but fun enough to hook gamers into the hobby and get them buying minis, gaming, and getting more involved.

And if it's a fun quick game that gives a basic flavor of the period that is all icing on top.

Of course, it was a set of miniatures rules before it became a boardgame.

Well, if you get a hex gridded gaming mat such as the ones that Hotz Artworkz produces or make one yourself, you'll be able to proceed.
