Just received a unit of Perry Prussian Ulans, Having a bit of trouble deciding if I want to use the provided white metal lances or pick up some brass lances. I like the look of the white metal, but the strength of the brass is also pretty appealing. Interested to hear what you guys think. Thanks in advance. |

I'd go with the brass ones, the white metal ones bend and break very easily IMHO. |

Try plastic rod – its bendy so doesn't tend to break or drop off or impale you …. |

Perry lances are very thick for 28mm scale and they are too "bendable" especially if for anything but a display shelf. Brass is best, although I use steel personally, with brass wire wrapped around, for the strap. If I might just show again… TMP link |

Definitely go for steel or brass. |

Agree that steel or brass are best. In scale and more durable. However, also sharp so watch out! Cheers, Paul |

Green Tiger: If you use plastic rod for the lances, how do you create the steel lance heads? How do you attach them to the plastic rods? |
