Just received a unit of Perry Prussian Ulans, Having a bit of trouble deciding if I want to use the provided white metal lances or pick up some brass lances. I like the look of the white metal, but the strength of the brass is also pretty appealing. Interested to hear what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

I'd go with the brass ones, the white metal ones bend and break very easily IMHO.

Try plastic rod – its bendy so doesn't tend to break or drop off or impale you ….

Perry lances are very thick for 28mm scale and they are too "bendable" especially if for anything but a display shelf.

Brass is best, although I use steel personally, with brass wire wrapped around, for the strap. If I might just show again…

Definitely go for steel or brass.

Agree that steel or brass are best.

In scale and more durable.

However, also sharp so watch out!

Cheers,

Paul

Green Tiger:

If you use plastic rod for the lances, how do you create the steel lance heads? How do you attach them to the plastic rods?
