i'm going to go stand at a crossroads at midnight on a moonless night with a Windsor & Newton Series 7 in my hand .

that's about the only way i'll ever paint as nice as this .

I'm sorry…looking at the guy in the white hat all I can think of is…

"Ephialtes Lives!!!"

He reminds me of that hunchback in 300 that Leonidas curses to live forever…

Glad to know he finally got his uniform :)

Is this where the inspiration for the figure came from?

Inquiring minds want to know and all that…

You do have to admit, there are one or two in this range who might need genetic profiling. There is an officer who also shows "dysmorphic features"…….(odd looking face basically. Ancestors needed to travel out of their village more). Great castings though and superb painting of course

They might be ugly, but they are pretty and they can fight!!

We've all had girlfriends like that, decades ago in my case…………..

Stupendous! The shading is incredible: in places deft, in places subtle. The overall effect is so sumptuous that it makes reality look bland. Truly an achievement!

In my order from Roger I had asked him to include a pill which would let me paint like Francesco but for some unexplained reason he declined, kindly pointing out that I had one advantage over Francesco – speed! Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear…!

Hicks sculpts are some of my favorites. JJ

Wow! What great painting. The faces and shading are just over the top!

Wow, all I can say is, Wow…

(I would hate to game with them, there would be finger marks on them eventually)

These are really unbelievably splendid!

The facial expressions are particularly well done.

On a more practical note I find that firing line figures are more difficult to use on the table-top than say "march attack" or "advancing" so I do tend to lean more to the latter.

But for dioramas these are just so good they should have a permanent magnifying glass in front of them.

As an aside how resilient are Murawski bayonets as my Foundry and Old Glory ones are often break with clumsy folk like me about?

Cheers,

Paul

I completely agree, but the firing line figures make for good skirmishers.
