Any opinions on whether Irregular Wars would be a good choice for small actions during the Thirty Years War?

The rules are written to deal with that period, but the army lists are focused on the fringes (rather than the centre) of the European war.

The following army lists are included, although it would be easy enough to knock up lists for Continental Dutch, French and Spanish if that's what you wanted.

Royal English (40), Northern English (41), English adventurers (42), Lowland Scots (43), Highland Scots (44), Mere Irish (45), Spanish expeditionary force (46), Conquistadors (47), Colonial Spanish (48), Colonial Portuguese (49), French adventurers (50), Coureurs des bois (51), Hollanders (52), Swedish (53), Imperialist (54), Polish-Lithuanian Union (55), Muscovites (56), Cossacks (57), Ottoman (58), Steppe Khanate (59), Arabian (60), Safavids (61), Moghul (62), East Indies sultanate (63), Eastern pirates (64), Ming Chinese (65), Manchurian (66), Joseon Korean (67), Muromachi Japanese (68), Sengoku Japanese (69), Ikkō Ikki (70), Knights of Malta (71), Berber (72), East African (73), Songhai (74), Tribal African (75), Caribbean Indians (76), Amazonian Indians (77), Mesoamerican (78), Chinantecs (79), Inca (80), Mapuche (81), Desert Indians (82), Mississippians (83), Woodland Indians (84), Pacific Islanders (85)

Great, sounds like a fun set. most of the sets out there are for larger engagements.

Yes, I've used it quite a bit for our skirmish campaign and really enjoy the rule set.

Company level renaisance has my interest.
Are these in print still?

Anyone ever worked up regular ECW lists for small battles? I've been going through my ECW scenario books from Partizan Press and it looks about 1/3 would work great with Irregular Wars' scale of battle.

I've sort of knocked together a dry run of average quality units, but if someone else has already put something together and tested them out, I'm all ears.
