Years ago I found a line of "Celtic Orc" figures. They were more human looking than most Orcs, they would make nice 1/2 Orc figures. The figures were nude and carrying lozenge shaped shields. I would like to get more but I can't find who made them. They were made for slotted bases and the sculpting was superb. Anyone have any ideas where thay might have come from? |

That would be my guess, too. The old Vendel Orcs, now Sgt. Major's Bloody day line, are also more human looking than most Orcs, but they're wearing more armor than the Celtos Fomorians: sgmm.biz/Orcs_c_69.html |

I found them, I think (unless they're the ones that cloudcaptain linked to, above): marbles.invalid link/2001archive/01Jun.html (bottom of the page) EDIT: hmm, I can't seem to get the link to work. You need to replace "invalid_link" with "frothers unite .com" (but without the spaces)

Your description sounds like our Fomorian Orcs: link Except ours are not on slotta bases. |

It's definitely not the Fomorian Orcs, the figures were much more realistic. The name of the pack (they came in a pack of figures) was 'Celtic Orcs'. If I can figure out where to put an image I will post a photo of the one I painted. |

I finally got AcrylicNick's link to work, and those figures look like they were from the same line. The figures are attributed to "Icon", which sounds familiar. I googled them but they don't seem to be around anymore. Are they still in business? |

Brigade acquired the sculpts from Icon when Icon closed shop. |

The figures are attributed to "Icon", which sounds familiar. I googled them but they don't seem to be around anymore. Are they still in business? If I'm not mistaken, Icon Miniatures became Harlequin Miniatures, which became Black Tree Design. Or something like that. Brigade Models (not to be confused with Brigade Games) acquired the "Celtos" line from I-Kore, which became Urban Mammoth. Hope I didn't get anything wrong. |
