I was looking for a copy of Battlegroup Kursk rules. New copies seem to be going for £28.00 GBP to £40.00 GBP, but I nearly fell off my chair when I found this: link A new copy from Caliver Books via Amazon for £75.00 GBP plus £2.80 GBP UK delivery! The seller's description says In bold "LAST FEW – OUT OF PRINT! ". It may indeed be out of print but this seems a pretty cynical ploy to hike the price. Good thing there are plenty of other new copies out there at reasonable prices. I can't imagine anyone shelling out £75.00 GBP |

It it's via Amazon, IIRC they have some algorithm in their pricing that latches onto rarity and advises their sellers to set prices at some crazy levels if there's only a handful being advertised. link |

I wouldn't pay it, but I'm cheap. The seller is trying to take advantage of supply and demand. Maybe it will work, perhaps not, but we'll see if the market supports it. ie the demand is still there and people want it now rather than wait for a reprint. Turn it around, if a seller is stuck with old packaging or the items are no longer in demand is there anything wrong with them selling them for less than list price if the demand goes down? |

On a real world note, I wouldn't pay 75 pounds for BGK but I would trade $75 USD worth of still in pkg OOP FoW terrain for it :) |

Wow… wish I had stashed a few more copies. To think I was selling copies at the Bovvy show for £25.00 GBP Just to point out, that price is not the RRP that was set. The book is now out of print, and I suspect some are aware of That. Id wait for the PDF of it if I was you… |

At that price I want a complete game – ready to play out of the box. Not just the rules, add my own minis, terrain, dice, etc… |

No. But I'd gladly sell mine for that amount! |

Standard practise for Caliver – they always hike up the price when a Rulebook goes out of print. Mike |

I wouldn't pay that for ANY rule set I have to agree with you on that. Most of my rule books are used copies, which is quite sufficient for my needs. |

I ain't stupid enough to pay that price for any rule set, out of print or not. Unless it was made from 24K gold and weighed several ounces. |

Looking at some of the offerings on Amazon Marketplace and ebay I'd say that some people confuse 'rare' or 'OOP' with 'desperately wanted'. |

Typical Caliver as Black Hat says. At a recent Newark show they wanted £47.50 GBP for a single Wings of Glory plane that had *just* gone out of production. Even the most ambitious eBay sellers were only looking for £25.00 GBP-£30 and obviously Caliver were just marking up their old stock. I went elsewhere and got one around the retail price of £12.00 GBP |
