After getting my copy of Lion Rampant and reading it carefully IŽve decided to clear of the old dust off my samurai ( link ) and reuse them for this game.

So, I'll paint some more figures to expand the size of the units (they have 8 and should be 12). I discard the individual bases, but I consider other options: new bases, multiple bases, extension bases…

Please, have a look: link

Any advice will be welcome!

Sorry, I mean "Recycling"… :-(

Can you use the rules with units of 8 rather than 12? that could save some hassle and new figures you have can go into making new units.

I decided to do a few samurai for something different while I'm cranking out my AWI figs. They are Perry's unarmored samurai and a set of armored samurai.
Your figs are beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm resisting the strong urge to do more.

@mad monkey 1,
The units that have 12 men:"1) If your unit is still over half its starting number of models, it fights a lot better (with 12 dice) than if the unit is at half strength or less (rolling only 6 dice)."

@Hetairoi,
Basing option #1:
------------------------------------------------------------
Keep the original Impetus base and add an extra base with more figures. It is probably the method IŽll use with the cavalry, because I do not want to change the bases with the river if possible.
You could do this and keep track of casualties using casualty rings or caps.

Basing option#3:

Use a larger base and reposition all the figures. Although it's more work, it's probably what IŽll do with infantry units.

If you are going to go through all that effort, I'd base them individually.

Your Samurai units have been an inspiration to me.

Your river bases are so good they justify the whole concept of large bases which I otherwise don't really like

It would be a crime to rip up those river bases :)

If you do individual basing, you can also use them for the RONIN rules (also by Osprey).

Ah ha! Another period to use for Lion Rampant. Excellent, and now I will finally have an excuse to buy Samurai figures now.

Great idea! The samurai look really good.

IŽm sorry, individual bases are not an option. At least for infantry…

@Mad Monkey 1, thatŽs wahat IŽll do… for now ;-)

@jwebster, donŽt worry IŽll not touch the river bases. IŽll probably use option #1 with them.
