Sadly, my declining vision is catching up with me. For the first time ever I am looking at having figures commercially painted for me for my Lion Rampant army. I am looking for someone who can do a competent job on HYW French.

Does anyone have any recomendations? There are a mind numbing number of options out there and I have no clue where to begin.

It might help if you said the size of the figure that you want painting – and a rough total. Not all painters do all figure sizes and some prefer smaller or larger jobs.

If there is heraldry to be done I'd recommend going local, or at least US/UK (if you live in those places). You will get someone who understands what you want.

Overseas services are great at doing bulk painting where most things are the same. But economies of scale break down when you have lots of variety.

My Front Rank HYW have been sitting in the box for a year. Hope you get yours done well and in a good time frame.

If you are able to put the research in and provide all the relevant details you want, then Fernando (miniaturelovers.com)does a great job. They painted my HYW armies a few years ago, and I got back exactly what I asked for. I did supply all the heraldry details.

If you are unable to provide that, I would recommend someone with an understanding of European history and with access to the relevant research resources.

28mm is the scale I was looking for and 56 figures. I plan on using Perry Crecy to Agincourt line. Thank you for the recommendations. I will get to work on heraldry.

I dont know if you have got round to getting your figures painted up yet, but I am taking on commisions and I quite enjoy painting Livery, some examples on my blog.
