Excellent additions to the range. I like those very much. thumbs up

…However, I still prefer to utilize this range of figures in a variation of The Battle of Dorking 1871 scenario, against a Prussian Army. grin Just saying…

Eclaireur, I was thinking the very same thing!

Not sure you can still get the old Wargames Foundry version of these from Foundry. I suppose these would be a bit big for the Foundry Afghan regular artillery crew figures but would probably look good anyway -- plus they would work for those British artillery units who were themselves armed with Armstrongs, maybe pairing them up with Empress AZW or some other company's c.1880 British artillery crews.

Too bad the only such crews made by Perry themselves are for their Egypt/Sudan mountain gun, who are all kneeling low on the ground to serve their small weapon and Naval MG crews -- though you might be able to cobble together standing British artillery crews by doing some slight conversions and maybe head-swaps amongst various other Perry figures.

Still, a very nice "sideways" addition for us Second Afghan War types!

Well, I'm intending to use the artillery for the Fenian Raids, although it might be a tad unfair to the Fenians! There is a photograph of a Fenian artillery piece captured by Canadian militia that looked like it was on some improvised carriage.

Good idea my friend.

@Madguru

I'm thinking one or two of those crew figures might convert to Afghan gunners too! It's news to me that some of the 2nd AW RA units were armed with Armstrong 12 pdrs. I would use the 12pdrs with my standing Empress crews rather than the squatting Perry ones. I've been trying without success to persuade one or two of the manufacturers to make a 40pdr!
