Hey folks, I bought a Pegasus "Cyberclicks" think off of ebay. At the time I didn't realize that it's basically steampunk I guess, a lot of the wall pieces are cast to look as though they are steel or iron. I want to cover those with pieces of cork tile that I have but I have never done it before. What's the best war to paint the cork to look like stone and do you rough it up so that the cork has some texture? I'm working in 28mm and would like for it to look like stone. |

Glue your cork to your steampunk wall pieces and assemble and base your building. An old CD or the bottom of a used coffee can might work. A round or irregularly-cut base looks better than a square base. Give the cork stonework some extra texture by first lying the assembled building on its side, daubing the cork with small patches of watered-down white glue, and sprinkling with fine sand. It might be best to do one side of the building at a time, allowing sufficient drying time before moving on to the next side of the building. Once you've glued your cork to your wall pieces, paint the building black or charcoal grey. When dry, dry brush with lighter shades of grey up to khaki and off-white. Good luck with your project! |
