So in the wake the arrival of DBA 3.0, Victrix sends an email to me announcing the "completion" of their Carthaginian line. But it doesn't seem to include elephants or other mounted troops. Carthaginians and no elephants? So does someone produce Carthaginian elephants in a scale compatible with Victrix plastics? A plastic elephant would be awesome. One can only hope. |

How about a Games Workshop Mumakil?? You might have one of those lying about, unfinished. Maybe. |

Argh! THAT would make those dastardly Romans scatter! On the battlefield in Africa, the second in command speaks: "Scipio, we are facing creatures with four huge tusks standing higher than ten horses. They have forts upon their backs with a dozen archers!" "Scipio?…" "What do you mean Scipio's left? Left and gone where? Aw, ****!" |

The news letter was about the completion of those sets. We said nothing about not doing Elephants! Steve. |

I think they're doing the Punic Wars in order…you have to wait til Episode II to get your elephants |

Was that a… we are planning elephants or…. elephants not ruled out. |

I agree give the guys a chance. They may however decide not to do the "specials" like Elephants, cavalry etc but recommend other companies products like Aventine, of which they have done for the Republican Roman Cavalry for example. |

Steve LBMS. All your Punic war figures are looking fantastic and with the price of plastic being a fraction of the cost of metal, I am seriously contemplating starting a Carthaginian army in plastic. The only drawback would be if I thought I'd have to buy metal cavalry. Carthaginians look like they need a fair bit of the mounted stuff. So was wondering if you plan to do plastic cavalry? |

ibid I *really* like consistancy in my armies. I know that once they're painted and based most people won't notice minor differences in style and size--but *I'll* know… It takes me a long time to paint an army, even a small one, because I have several simutanerous projects in the works (I can hear Ed chuckle as he reads this) so buying infantry now in the expectation of plastic cavalry and elephants is not out of the question. Therefore, it would be nice to be told whether they are a part of the plan. |

Numidian Cavalry are on the list as both sides used lots of them. They are a good first ancient cavalry set to get out there as they should pay themselves back reasonably quickly in comparison to other sets and still keep a roof over mine and Julian's heads! Once they are done doing other cavalry sets will be a bit simpler for us to do. There are a couple of other sets being worked on at present so Numidians won't be just yet however. Regards, Steve. |

Fellas, I'd say if you want to know what someone will do in the future, look to see what they've done in the past. Victrix has put out an amazing Napoleonic line complete with cavalry; IMO I feel certain that they'll do no less for these ancient ranges which have been received with great fanfare. I think that by the time one gets done painting and basing infantry that the cav will begin to appear. |

Lots of stuff to look forward to from Victrix. If I ever come into money they my first choice for paying to make Egyptian plastic chariots would be Victrix (one can dream). Love plastics and always fancied a Carthaginian army with their interesting allies etc. |

Having just painted the Colonels horse for a box of Victrix Nap Austrians , I would say that their horses based on this one are amongst the best out there. Its a wonderful sculpt and as my Mrs knows a little about horses ( her grandfather used to own stables), she reckons that the horse is in a natural pose . So yes Ancient Cavalry will be an exciting prospect. |

Plastic elephants would be great. If you could do sprues of 2 plastic nellies, with right and left sides of each being separate but 100% compatible, that would give you 4 different poses of nellies right out of the box, without conversion. Plastic numidian cavalry would always be welcome and so useful in such a wide variety of potential armies to utilise them. |
