I hope this is the right place to post this question – I am bringing it up on TMP because a few years ago someone on TMP linked to this video and now I can't find it! It was a black and white heavy metal/industrial/Viking metal video. It started with a medieval-looking monk in robes standing on some rocks during a violent storm, talking about the discovery of America by Vikings. The monk had a very old, wrinkled face, he had a kind of Teutonic Knight/Gothic look to him. Then the video switches to a Viking ship in the middle of a storm, and there is a rock band (including I think a drum kit) set up on the Viking ship and they are blasting out some heavy metal while getting drenched with rain. For some reason I thought the band was KMFDM but I have looked in vain on YouTube at KMFDM videos with no luck. The music also seemed to remind me of the Trent Reznor version of "Immigrant Song" but I think it came out some time before that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! |

Hi, did you try the following bands: Amon Amarth Ereb Altor Skálmöld Tyr The setting would fit them. Cheers, Benjamin |

I think the Heavy Metal memory has possibly led you astray…. The description is suspiciously KLFish – a very long way from being a metal band, but the particular remix it was the video for did nod heavily in that direction even though they were basically acid house and pioneers of techno…. PS – I just *know* I'm going to have "Justified and Ancient" stuck in my head for days now – that's on you…. ;-) |

Dom thank you so much, that has been bugging me all weekend! I think what threw me off (besides the heavy metal bit) was remembering that the band name started with 'K' and that led me to KMFDM. MCV 80, thanks for the tip on those other bands, I think it was a discussion of 'Viking' metal bands here on TMP that led me to the 'What Time is Love' video. Now I can spend tonight watching Viking metal videos while painting up some Vikings! Tom |

It's the Tammy Wynette part of Justified and Ancient that always sticks in my head – that one's a persistent earworm for me…. |
