Playtested a game of IABNM for Too Fat Lardies yesterday. Lots of mistakes, lots of fun. I have the writeup on my blog. link |

Thanks for sharing. What have you played in the past with moderns and how do you compare IABNM? I have wondered how much Lardies naming of rule sets impacts their sales. Some of their game names are evocative "Le Feu Sacre", others are in jokes or rude. |

Sounds good. Thanks for posting. I've been wondering about them for a while now. How are the squads handled, do the stands represent individual men, fire teams, squads, other? |

> Thanks for sharing. What have you played in the past with moderns and how do you compare IABNM? I've played MBT and IDF from Avalon Hill, Force on Force, and Fistful of Tows. As for where IABNM fits – it is the Cold War equivalent of IABSM. Card Activation, individual tanks and squads (with individual casualties tracked). I do like the detail that missiles have gotten – reminds me a bit of how MBT handled it without being quite as rules dense. > How are the squads handled, do the stands represent individual men, fire teams, squads, other? Squads and Teams have losses tracked by the man but are counted as a single unit. As long as you can track the casualties you can base them how you like. When I use the CM scale in the next game it will be a single stand for each squad/team and either a side chart or casualty caps of some kind. For this last game I used a mix of individuals and casualty markers. |

Forgot to mention – APCs can operate in 3 different modes, close support (very near the infantry they carry), far support (holding back a ways but still needing to support their infantry), or detached (go where they want, within limits). I forgot that in the first game but will remember it in the next. That is a nice bit covering doctrine and keeping the APCs from being glorified tanks. |

Really looking forward to this, love IABSM. Also +1 for sticking to IABNM as the name, I think it's officially "Maxims to Milans" or something like that. Chris |

I don't know what the final title will be. I am kinda partial to IABNM myself (which means it should most likely be changed). |

What scale did you play this in ? |
Dynaman8789 | 28 Oct 2014 5:47 a.m. PST |
It was played with 6mm. The ground scale practically matches the figure scale that way. Rules work as written with 15mm figures. Next game I will be using centimeters to give those missiles some more umph! (range matters for those babies) |

Very interested in how this plays out in that case. My 6mm stuff has been itching for something new. What is the size of game that thus is aimed at? |

A company on a side is normal. Could be up to 2 per side or so. |

Any news on when this will be available for purchase? |

Hopefully early next year. There are a few areas that need extra testing but it's not far off. |
